How to pay

There are 2 primary payment methods for your trips.

• Cash: provide the amount indicated on the taximeter to the driver directly. You can also use payment via POS but your driver might not own a POS machine as they are not obliged by law.
• Card: you can select your credit or debit card as your preferred method of payment. You add your card by selecting the "Payments & Promos" category in your menu and selecting "Add card".
• Google pay / Apple pay: You can also select Google pay / Apple pay as a payment method from the "Payments & Promos" category of the menu.

Additionally, the following payment methods can be used:

• Taxi Wallet: If someone has credited your Karoot account with an amount for taxi rides, you can use your Taxi Wallet as a payment method for the journey.
• Promo: If there is an active coupon in your account, it can be used as a payment method for a ride. However, to use any coupon code to pay for a ride, you must first set "Card" as your default primary payment method.

You can set your preferred payment method as default for all future trips, and you can change your payment method before requesting a trip, while you are on trip, even at the end of the trip.
